Weekend Schedule

Friday, March 20th

11:00AM to 8:30PM – Expo/Packet Pickup

6:00pm The Game Day 5K

6:10pm The Game Day 1 mile

Saturday, March 21st

4:45am: Shuttle service begins from Downtown Wilmington

6:55am: National Anthem

6:55am: Make sure your RACEJOY tracking is ready to go!

7:00am: Half and Full Marathon and Marathon Relay Start

9:00am: Free Shuttle service begins to take runners back to the start area (remember that post race shuttles can take awhile due to race traffic around Wilmington)

8:00am to 1:00pm Post race party, beer, food, finish line celebration.

10:00am: Half Marathon Awards

11:00am: Full Marathon Awards

1:20pm: Course Cutoff

1:30pm: Free Shuttle service ends

4:00pm: AFTER PARTY

Check out this updated map we made with some of the things you will see on the course including your start area Johnny Mercer Pier! This is going to be fun! Here is a little course description too: "The new 2020 course will start at Johnny Mercer Pier overlooking the Atlantic Ocean at sunrise. The half, full and relay will take off and head west toward downtown Wilmington. The first 5 miles will be on flat main roads, runners will have 1 entire lane and the shoulder. Spectators can watch along this portion and then are encouraged to make their way downtown for the finish. Roads will be open for traffic at all times. Once the the runners hit mile 6.5, they will turn onto US 74 and head downtown. This will be a quiet portion of the event as spectators will not be allowed here, but we will have aid stations. By the 9 mile marker, US 74 raises up over the marsh land of Wilmington and runners will be elevated over land for 1.5 miles until the half splits from the full and runs through Historic Downtown Wilmington to the finish. The full marathon will continue down the Isabelle Holmes Bridge, then have 2 smaller climbs over the Battleship bridge and the biggest climb at the Cape Fear Memorial Bridge between 13 and 13.5. From there, the rest of the course is mainly flat as the full athletes make way around 90% shaded Greenfield Lake trail as an out and back and finish Historic Downtown Wilmington." #ilmmarathonmadness #ilmmarathon #wilmingtonnc #wilmingtonmarathon #WrightsvilleBeach #WBMarathon #runnersofinstagram #runchat #running #runners #racecation
